So, the other day…

So, the other day I had a realization. That even the most mundane activities holds an incredible potential for humor. For instance, when I dropped my soup. It was hilarious watching my dog try to clean it up before I could. Or when I tripped over my shoe, I couldn’t help but laugh because come on, laughing at yourself is healthy.

I did improvisational comedy for over a year and the best most fundamental lesson I learned from it, that has kept me sane and happy throughout my life, is the ability to laugh at yourself.

That’s not to say make fun of yourself, but to find healthy ways to accept yourself to the point where you can find humor in all the best and worst aspects of who you are.

Recognize your best qualities, and write them down!

Recognize your least best qualities, and laugh about them!

Remember, most humor comes from relatability. Everyone has tripped over their own shoe, but most people don’t laugh at themselves about it. We image the world to be laughing at us. When in fact, we understand on the deepest most personal level.

For instance, I’m short. So when I would blank on stage, the only excuse I needed was that I’m short.

One of my all time favorite things to do is to make others laugh. When you are able to find the humor in all the things in life, you inspire others to find humor in life too.

And remember what they say: Laughter is the best medicine.

Well, it’s true!

Enjoy yourself, enjoy life, and I guarantee you’ll feel a lot better.
